The opening ceremony of the 29th edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry – Agroprodmash 2024 – took place today at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow.

The show is held by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Agroprodmash 2024 presents equipment and technologies for the entire food production chain from raw materials and ingredients to packaging, quality control, cooling, storage, and logistics.

This year's show occupies over 64,000 square metres to bring together more than 900 companies from 18 countries. Its exhibitors demonstrate the latest solutions in food safety, import substitution, robotisation and automation of production processes.

An important part of Agroprodmash 2024 will be its conference programme, which will include conferences, forums and panels dedicated to the most relevant issues of the food processing industry.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vladimir Kashin, Chair at the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federal Assembly on Agrarian Issues, Sergey Mitin, First Deputy Chair at the Federation Council Committee of the Russian Federal Assembly on Agrarian and Food Policy and Nature Management, Vladimir Skvortsov, Director at the Food and Food Processing Industry Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Vasily Lavrovsky, Advisor to the Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Vladimir Platonov, President at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Maxim Fateev, Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, representatives of industry associations, business and expert communities.

Vladimir Kashin spoke about advanced technologies that enable agriculture enterprises to obtain a large amount of raw materials. Therefore, they face an important task of processing, preserving and delivering these raw materials to consumers.

Sergey Mitin said that today more than 20 thousand food processing enterprises operate in the industry. Agroprodmash and its conference programme provide an opportunity for employees of these enterprises – machine builders and processors – to get information about new developments, research and technical progress in this industry.

Vladimir Skvortsov read out a greeting from Marina Afonina, Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and emphasised that the use of modern technologies, means of production and up-to-date equipment is necessary to achieve the goals of the industry’s development.

Vasily Lavrovsky said that each edition of Agroprodmash is not only a platform for solving purely practical tasks of demonstrating products and technologies of the agriculture industry and finding reliable partners in Russia and abroad but also a respected intellectual forum for working out answers to the challenges facing the industry.

Vladimir Platonov noted that Russia and Moscow in particular are developing not only as consumers, but also as producers of products: ‘We are moving away from the notion that Russia is a country of consumers to the notion that Russia is a country of producers.’

Maxim Fateev emphasised that Agroprodmash is the show number one in its category. In his opinion, it became such a great event largely due to the successful synergy of the exhibition and conference programme. He also thanked the exhibitors for their cooperation. ‘We have exhibitors who occupy literally 2 or 3 metres. And there are those who occupy hundreds of metres. They all are united by one thing: they are professionals of their business, patriots of the industry. We have been watching some of the exhibitors from the very first show. We could see from their stands how the company was developing and in fact how the industry itself was developing,’ said Maxim Fateev.

Agroprodmash 2024 is open until October 11.
