Post Show Report Agroprodmash 2021
Agroprodmash is one of Russia’s leading trade shows which brings together Russian and foreign market players in the food and food processing industry. It is held in close cooperation with Russian federal authorities, business support organisations, research institutes, industry unions and associations.
Agroprodmash 2021 was held at a high level, confirming once again its status of a respected international platform for the food and food processing industry. The show helps to generate productive contacts, conclude contracts, and demonstrate the latest developments of Russian and foreign manufacturers of food machinery.

Despite the difficult situation in the world due to the pandemic, 293 foreign companies and 446 Russian participants, including more than 250 equipment and ingredient manufacturers, took part in the exhibition.
Types of products on display: food and beverage equipment, packaging and filling, refrigeration, storage, measuring and control, weighing equipment, ingredients, automation and robotics solutions, food safety, sanitation and hygiene, components, recipes and technologies, R&D, solutions for construction and reconstruction of food industry facilities, recycling and disposal of waste
The official opening ceremony was attended by Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maksim Fateev, Director general of EXPOCENTRE AO Alexey Vyalkin, Director of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Construction Equipment of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Maria Elkina, Rector of Moscow State University of Food Production Mikhail Balykhin, Chairman of the Council, Director of the Russian Dairy Union Lyudmila Manitskaya, President of the Food Ingredients Producers Union Tatiana Savenkova, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finances of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Akhmatov, and other officials.
Show highlights
The German national pavilion accommodated 55 German companies that demonstrated solutions for different industries including meat, dairy, confectionery, fruit and vegetable processing, and packaging.
The Italian national pavilion was organised by ICE and represented the Federation of Italian Associations of Mechanical and Engineering Industries (ANIMA), the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCIMA), and 21 companies. The Italian participants demonstrated technological solutions for various food industry sectors, such as meat, dairy, confectionery, packaging, fruit and vegetable processing.
The show's 19 product sectors covered all segments of the food industry, focusing on new products and innovative developments. This year’s significant trends were safety, sustainability, automation, robotics, global digitalization, and cost optimisation.
An important event at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds was a meeting between EXPOCENTRE's Director General Alexey Vyalkin and Ambassador of Italy to Russia Giorgio Starace. The Italian Ambassador visited stands of Italian exhibitors and noted the strategic importance of the presence of Italian equipment in the Russian market. "I am very glad that this exhibition is dedicated to the agriculture industry, which is among priority branches of the Russian-Italian economic cooperation," said Mr. Starace.
The format of participation based on co-financing from regional budgets is becoming increasingly popular. This year, about 40 Russian companies from 14 regions of Russia used this state support tool: the Udmurt Republic, the Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Kaluga, Kirov, Kursk, Omsk, Orenburg, Rostov, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Tula, Volgograd, and Yaroslavl Oblasts.
The largest sector APM MeatTech welcomed more than 130 exhibitors from 13 countries. They showcased solutions for meat production from slaughtering to deep processing of meat raw materials.
The second large APM Packaging had more than 110 companies from 10 countries. Russian and foreign key companies and newcomers demonstrated the latest trends in packaging and filling equipment and technology: automation and robotics, efficiency, sustainability, crystal clear labels, etc. The storage equipment sector expanded significantly.
APM Ingredients brought together more than 100 exhibitors. The world's largest manufacturers and Russian companies showed their developments, technological solutions and recipes for a variety of sectors of the food processing industry. The showcase reflected all the major food trends, including safe and healthy food, snack, raw materials of plant origin, etc.
APM Bakery and APM SweetTech accommodated more than 100 exhibitors from Russia, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Turkey. They presented both individual machines and complete lines for the production of a wide range of confectionery and bakery products.
More than 80 exhibitors took part in APM DairyTech, APM Bottling and APM DrinkMash to display equipment and solutions for the dairy and cheese industry, equipment and technology for the production of liquid, viscous and pasty food and beverages, and bottling solutions.
APM Food Hygiene and APM Food Safety and Quality Control brought together more than 40 manufacturers. For the first time, a company from Portugal presented its solutions. Exhibitors who missed last year's show have returned. Visitors explored the latest innovations in modern sanitary and hygiene equipment and detergents, quality control solutions, as well as received advice on the implementation of current quality management and food safety regulations.
APM Refrigeration accommodated 25 companies which showcased new energy-efficient equipment that was focused on solving energy cost and environmental challenges.
The other sectors of Agroprodmash 2021 were also very active and provided a lot of useful information about their products.
The Counselling Centres for Refrigeration Technology and Confectionery Industry worked all days of the exhibition.
The Moscow State University of Food Production enjoyed a lot of interest from the visitors. The university is Russia’s leading educational and research centre in the field of food production, biotechnology, safety management, quality and environmental protection of food and food manufacturing industries, food chemistry and mechanical engineering, economics and management of food production.
The Employment Centre provided advice on employment and career development.
Conference programme
The conference programme of Agroprodmash 2021 received a great response from the professional community. The key topics for 2021 were digital technologies, robotisation of food production, innovative technologies for healthy lifestyle, advanced solutions in the meat, dairy, bakery, fruit and vegetable processing industries, and product safety and sustainability in the current economic climate.
Key events were organised by KVK Imperia and EXPOCENTRE AO.
The smart food technology was discussed at the Russian Conference on Smart Food Production: Innovative Technology, Packaging and Ingredients for Healthy Life, which opened the conference programme. The participants discussed a whole range of issues related to healthy eating during the conference sessions.
The 16th Russian Forum on Innovative Technologies and Equipment in the Dairy Industry was devoted to global changes in the dairy market, its trends and key risks.
The participants in the 6th Russian Forum on Bakery and Confectionery Industry “Bread Business” discussed prospects of the baking industry.
Several associations of the food industry held their important events.
The 4th Forum on Food Processing Machinery was organised by the Rosspetsmash Association with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and EXPOCENTRE AO. The key theme of the event was increasing growth rates in the industry. The forum participants reviewed the results of the development of Russia's food engineering industry in 2020 and gave a forecast for 2021.
The National Union of Meat Processors and leading experts of the consumer market, top managers and owners of meat processing companies from different regions of Russia hold the traditional Russian Meeting of Owners and Top Executives of Meat Enterprises.
Another important event was the 1st Russian Convention of Turkey Producers, which was organised by the recently created the National Association of Turkey Producers. The event is planned as a main annual business event in the turkey industry. The congress included two panels on the plans for turkey breeding until 2030 and the sale of turkey products. Delegates discussed the state of the market in Russia and globally, trends in the retail market and turkey's place in it, and the development of the association’s joint marketing programmes.
EXPOCENTRE in partnership with the Russian Union of Refrigeration Enterprises (Rossoyuzkholodprom) and the Refrigeration Industry web portal (Business Marketing OOO) organised the 3rd Conference on Refrigeration Industry: Effective Solutions for the Food and Food Processing Industry. The conference participants identified the main global trends that the refrigeration industry has to take into account in its development today.
The Workshop on Robots in the Food Industry was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Russian Association of Robotics (RAR) and devoted to the introduction of advanced technologies that significantly improve the efficiency of business processes, reduce the burden on personnel while creating conditions for greater product quality control and better management of working resources.
CROC IT Company organised the Congress on the Agriculture Industry Digitalisation with support of the Digital Economy organization and EXPOCENTRE AO. Market leaders and representatives of the industry's largest enterprises discussed key trends in the digitalisation of the food industry, and shared their experiences of implementing advanced digital solutions.
The 8th Annual Conference on Raw Materials, Equipment and Technologies for Fruit and Vegetable Processing was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Fruit News portal. The conference dealt with issues related to various forms of fruit and vegetable processing.
Traditionally, the highlight of the Agroprodmash programme was the Show of Professional Meat Boners.

More than 70 videos were shot about Agroprodmash 2021, including interviews with its exhibitors, visitors and opinion leaders, as well as videos of stands demonstrating equipment in action. All the footage is available on the exhibition’s YouTube channel.
The 27th edition of the Agroprodmash International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry will run on 10–14 October 2022 at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia.
